INSIGHTS | The inspiration behind my Lighted Figures was to convey the idea of coming out of the shadows. Stepping into the light. Either facing forward or backward, head tilted down or away, it does not matter. I wanted to show that you can step into the light as fast or as slow as you feel comfortable. You set the pace.

When creating this piece, I decided to play with texture and the color palette. I wanted to expand past the black & white tones and introduce grays with subtle gold tones. I also introduced a very light texture by layering the paints to achieve a minimal three-dimensional feel to the touch.
