INSIGHTS | This piece is a continuation of my “Lighted” figures. I choose a canvas size that would accentuate both the form and silhouette of the figure. By using a tall slender canvas that complimented the size of the figure, I was able to achieve an added dimension - the figure and its canvas were intertwined as one.

The inspiration behind my Lighted Figures was to convey the idea of coming out of the shadows. Stepping into the light. Either facing forward or backward, head tilted down or away, it does not matter. I wanted to show that you can step into the light as fast or as slow as you feel comfortable. You set the pace.
